The Perfect Berlin Itinerary– I’m Heading Back to Berlin

I’m heading back to Berlin in a couple of months. It’s long overdue, and I believe this is the best itinerary. It will allow me to discover new venues and update old blog posts.

I want to make sure the information I’ve given you guys is still relevant by keeping things updated, and now is a good time to do so.

Berlin is such an incredible city with so much decadence I decided to stay an entire month.

So, I want to fill you guys in on my itinerary and let you know which awesomely sexy reviews to watch out for in the near future.

In any case, even if you don’t follow my blog, this itinerary is a great one for anyone heading to Berlin.

What’s On My Berlin Itinerary?

As you might know, Berlin is one of my favorite places in the world. I go often. And staying for a month means I’ll have the time to explore as much as possible.

In the coming months, expect these articles and reviews on the blog.

A Few Flight Reports

I don’t always write about my flights. But if I fly a new route or an airline I’ve never flown before, I feel obligated to review it.

Therefore, below is a list of flight reports you’ll see soon.

American Airlines From LAX to DFW

Regarding my flight plan, I’ll fly from LAX to DFW on American Air in coach. Expect a review of the flight and overall experience to DFW.

A few flight reviews coming soon.

Read the drama that ensued during this flight here.

American From DFW to HEL

I’ve never flown to Helsinki before. I’m excited but a little worried about this long-haul flight. It will also be in coach, so don’t blame me for a grumpy review. Just kidding.

I don’t mind a coach fare, especially because this is a free flight. I paid with points! Awesome, right?

Read the long-haul flight report here.

Finnair from HEL to BER

As a first-time Finnair flyer, this will be a fun experience. Although the flight is short, I’m excited to experience it all.

Need more info on Finnair HEL to BER? Read the flight report.

Getting to and from BER, Berlin’s new airport

Now that TXL is permanently closed, it’s all about BER (Berlin Brandenburg Airport.)

I’m excited to write a post on how to get from BER into the city, how long it takes, and how much it costs.

New Reviews of Berlin Gay Venues

This image is from Folsom Europe in Berlin [Courtesy of Folsom Europe]

Berlin is a town filled with sex. And, since this is a gay blog, it’s vital we talk about all the dirty sex that occurs in town.

So, how about we enjoy some of those sex-filled venues while we’re there?

Get real stories of what happens in the darkrooms in Berlin! Download my Berlin guide on Etsy today.

Here are a few gay venues I plan on reviewing:

Jaxx

Jaxx is a dark room filled with cubbies and video rooms. I’ve been before, but now I want to figure out which days and evenings are best to go.

I want to give you a preview of what you’ll find, what kind of men go there, and how easy they are to play with. You know, the dirty, sexy details Designing Life is known for giving you.

Scheune

Barn, in German. This place is a gay bar known for its sexy atmosphere. Although the place is so tiny, I walked by it multiple times; I never knew it was there.

So, I want to check it out and see what it’s all about. Then, give you guys the dirty details on what you should expect.

Bull

Bull is a leather daddy bar where the men are forward and known for hard fu**king.

One of you guys recommended I go and see how the pounding goes. More importantly, I thought this place closed permanently.

Read my sexy review of Bull.

Ficken 3000

Ficken 3000 (AKA Fucking 3000 in English) is a gay bar with a great darkroom.

It’s a men-only fetish place that gets steamy, and I want to see how steamy it all gets.

Kit Kat Club

Kit Kat Club is not a gay club but has a gay night known as Revolver. Amongst other decadent gay parties.

This decadent club is known for men, women, and gender-fluid individuals getting it on all over the place.

In the past, I’ve never had a desire to check it out. But this might be the time to see how it goes.

Kit Kat Club is not a gay club, but they have an awesome gay night, Revolver, which I need to check out.

Revolver

Revolver is an organization that hosts different parties throughout Berlin. Although Revolver is usually held at Kit Kat Club, I’ve never been. It’s every 2nd Friday of the month.

Some of their fetish parties are so wild it seems like you need to be the spawn of Satan to go, which means it’s right up my alley.

Let’s strap on some horns, expose those nipples, and get our Revolver on.

This video is from Revolvers Pride party. So its much bigger. But I don’t believe their usual Revolver party is this big. I guess we’ll find out.

HustlaBall Review

HustlaBall is a pornstar-filled night. It also takes place at Kit Kat Club every October.

HustlaBall is a sweaty romp fest where you can watch porn stars fuck each other till they can’t take it anymore.

So how about I review it for you and tell you why you should go and who you’ll find!

This group does Hustlaball in Berlin. It looks wild. But how wild can it be? Let’s find out.

New Graffiti Drenched Artsy Places

I’m an artsy gay. But I’m also an artsy freaky gay. So I don’t just like art. I love dark art, weirdness, graffiti urban decadence. And graffiti-drenched places are something Berlin excels at.

Let’s find these artsy yet different places that will make your trip so much more memorable.

Raw

RAW is an industrial site turned workspace, artspace, eatery, Biergarten, and concert venue. It’s a Berlin powerhouse aiming to reinvigorate parts of the city that were otherwise unused.

It is what makes Urban Spree and Urban Nation possible. Only Berlin can turn scary abandoned dilapidated warehouses into an urban art form and a useful space that will captivate the world.

Urban Nation

Urban Nation is a museum for graffiti with weird, unique urban art. And if the art here is as strange and unique as I think it is, then it’s worth checking out and telling you guys about it.

They’re also responsible for street art all over the city.

East Side Gallery

If you remember, I went to the Berlin Wall to meet my friends on my last trip, and I couldn’t find them. That’s because there are many places in the city you can see pieces of the wall.

They went to East Side Gallery, the longest-standing portion of the wall covered in beautiful graffiti murals.

I went to Berlin Wall Memorial. A place with pieces of the wall, graffiti art, museums, and miniature architectural recreations of what east Berlin housing looked like.

This time, I want to see the iconic murals on the East Side Gallery.

I couldn’t find my friends at the Berlin Wall. Because we were at different parts of the wall.

East Side Gallery is a must for everyone. Read my review of it here.

Spray Paint Berlin?

At one point, I found art-filled spaces that taught you the art of graffiti and allowed you to create your own masterpiece to take back with you.

However, most places shut down during the pandemic, and groups like these began dwindling.

Now that things are returning to normal, I want to see if this is still an option.

As an artsy individual, I would love to take an edgy art class that even takes you to the streets of Berlin to spray paint on its wall.

Although originally Alternative Tours had graffiti art classes, it appears they’re not doing them at the moment. But read my review of their incredible and free graffiti art tour.

New Artsy Alternative Sites to Review

David Bowie Memorial

Who doesn’t love David Bowie? I want to pay my respects to this legend by heading to his memorial in Shoneburg.

Kluncherkranich

During my last trip to Berlin, my friends and I decided to head to Klunkcherkranich for a couple of drinks. We decided to bar hop on the way and never made it.

We had a fantastic night at SchWuz instead. I wouldn’t change a thing. But perhaps it’s time to check out this cute rooftop bar and the artsy and somewhat dystopian ambiance.

We never made it to Kluncherkranic! But SchWuz is amazing.

The Smallest Nightclub in Berlin

Somewhere in the city of Berlin, there’s a club inside a phonebooth-sized box. It fits about three people, and I think I found its location. Well maybe. I believe it’s located inside the Holzmarkt space.

It’s called Teledisko.

So why not check it out?

More to come on this one.

Read my trip report and experience with Teledisko!

Holzmarkt

Restaurants on the water, bar venues, and funky art create an interesting atmosphere in Berlin.

If all else fails, it’s an artsy venue for IG and memories you’ll never forget.

Urban Spree

Urban Spree is another set of urban museums and eateries in an artsy setting. It’s an interesting find, for sure.

Sage Beach

Sage beach is more of a summer destination, so who knows if it will be open when I’m there.

However, it’s filled with gorgeous urban, industrial art that looks odd and ominous. It has chaotic and weird art Berlin does well, and I live for this.

It’s located right near the river with eateries overlooking the water!

If LA had its shit together, they would figure out how to do something like this.

A Few Awesome Restaurants to Taste

Since I have to eat every day, I’m pretty sure I’ll find many great restaurants in Berlin to write about. However, the list below is a small but tasty list of places I intentionally want to try while there.

Crack Buns

Sliders. What more can I say? I’m a big fatty that loves a good burger. And a mini burger with a Japanese fusion twist makes things all the better.

Berlin, Crackbuns… Want! Stat!

CrackBuns is so tasty. Everyone must go. Read my adventure and review here.

Wen Chens

I love Asian cuisine. And if their noodles are as tasty as they look online, then I might not need other restaurants in my life afterward.

Berlin, Wen Chen noodles look incredible.
Yep. I need this inside of me.

Shibuya

Picking a favorite Asian cuisine is tough. So why not try Shibuya, a Japanese restaurant. Although I have more Japanese restaurants on my list, I feel this one is going to make for a great review.

And if you’ve been to Tokyo, you’ll know the neighborhood of Shibuya and the famously overcrowded crosswalk.

Cafe Pilz

Middle Eastern food. YUM. I just want some good food that comes from a place where the men are beautiful, and the food is made with passion. And I want to eat it all. Also, I think (but not positive, this place is vegan.)

So why not try a hip new Cafe in a hip town with food to die for?

A Few Gay Venues to Update

It’s been too long since I’ve been to Berlin, and since I sell a 2021 Gay Berlin guide, I’m worried it’s a little outdated. Therefore, I need to check out a few venues that might need updates.

Here is a small list of venues I need to update for the guide.

Mutschmanns

So much has changed during covid and since my last visit to Berlin. Mutschmanns remodeled and moved location.

They also began throwing a bisexual party where men and women can co-mingle.

It begs the question, is Mustchmanns still a great place to party for gay men? Are the men equally horny? Did their move hurt them?

As one of my favorite venues in Berlin, I owe them a visit and an update on what has changed.

mutschmanns gay bar

Woofs

Woofs was my first gay bar experience in Berlin. If you have my Gay Berlin Guide, you’ll understand the dark room was filled with so many men, all needing a bottoms attention. It was the best first experience I’ve ever had.

I’m excited to come back and show my friends a good place to play hard! However, I also want to see if there are any changes so I can update any information on my previous review of Woofs.

Laboratory

Laboratory is a must every time you go to Berlin. This time, I invited a few friends to travel with me, and I want to show them a good time.

Laboratory is always a good idea. So why not head back? It’s the perfect excuse to see if things have changed?

If you’re unfamiliar with Lab, check out my review.

Der Boiler

Apart from having a great time at Der Boiler, I want to discover if things have changed or if they’ve gotten hotter.

I also can’t remember a few key things about this place that some of you have emailed me about, and I want to ensure I have the answers for you guys.

I wrote a lengthy review and real accounts of all the sexiness that happens in the bathhouse and how you can also make your wet dreams come true in my travel guide. So, let’s go back.

Gay Hostel Berlin, is it still around?

If you read my Gay Hostel Berlin review, you know how much I love this place.

I’ve reached out to them during the pandemic, and it appears they might have permanently closed because of Covid.

It’s unfortunate if that’s the case. However, I don’t know that as a fact. I want to see if they’re still around or if they’re simply taking a hiatus.

Although I’ll officially age out this year, I still believe it’s a great venue for gay men under 38 to have the most fantastic Berlin experience.

So let’s discover the truth, update my review, and hope this place is still around.

This was literally my bunk every single time lol.

Lets Workout

I love finding a place to work out whenever I’m in a destination long enough. As a former swimmer, I aim for public pools or swim teams I can join. However, the pandemic hurt many pools and cut our options down by almost 100 percent during its peak.

Berlin has an LGBT swim team called the Berlin Aquaholics. This means I can probably join and work out with them. But a quick browse through their website makes me think they’re more of a water polo team than a swim team. And I never played water polo. So, we’ll see.

Can tourists get a gym pass for a month?

Staying anywhere for a month changes how you interact with the city. Can a tourist get a gym membership for a month? Are there any gyms that allow that?

Or will I only have more conventional workout options like running through Tiergarten?

Learning to use a gym is a hassle, but I see the benefits. Why not find gyms we can try and perhaps get ripped in the process.

I have a list of gyms I’m going to reach out to and see if they have monthly passes for tourists like me =).

How about bike rentals?

Now that bike rentals are a worldwide phenomenon, can I rent a bike for the month without hassle or weird membership fees?

These are important questions for anyone trying to weigh their transportation options and get some exercise while they’re at it.

I did find Swapfiets monthly bike subscription in Berlin, but I’ll have to investigate more on this before I can create a full-on review for you guys. Otherwise, this might be a viable option.

I also noticed Berlin now has NextBike all over the city. Maybe I can do that? Only time will tell.

Hotel Reviews (?)

I rented a VRBO for the month. So expect a video review of the place. But if given the chance, I’d love to check out:

  • the Axel Hotel
  • and perhaps R&CO fetish hotel.
  • and hopefully others.

Both are gay-friendly and sound like they’ll make your Berlin vacation so much sexier.

However, I’m not sure I’ll have the resources for hotel reviews. But maybe things will change.

Other Venues

Other venues I have on my list, but it’s okay if I don’t get to them, are:

Since I have friends that might come with me, and they’re new to Berlin, they might want to do more touristy things. And there’s nothing wrong with that. If you want touristy things to do in Berlin, check out my other blog posts.
