Studs Bear Bar is a relatively new gay bar in Puerto Vallarta (and the first leather bar.) They opened right before gay pride this year, and it welcomed special events during pride that allowed Rocco Steele to perform.
It was a hit.

Studs Bear Bar Venue Review
Studs is sleekly designed. It’s dark yet filled with neon lights and lasers that dart in all directions.
The Main Bar
The main bar is big. It’s lined with many bar stools for you and your friends to sit, chat and order drinks.
The bartenders are nice and attentive.
To the bar’s right is a DJ station, laser lights, and flatscreen TVs. It’s a well-laid-out place.
To make it even sexier, the place feels like a sex dungeon.
The Harness Shop
The front area of the bar (closest to the street) has a leather harness shop in case you want to take your shirt off and show off that hairy chest while using a harness.
This area also doubles as a clothes check during special occasions.
The floor-to-ceiling windows are usually covered by thick drapes that darken the room but liven the atmosphere.
This area contains several tabletops as well.
The Lounge Area
The lounge area is near the restroom. There are two comfortable sofas with low tables for you to set your drinks.
In front of the table, there’s a cage for dancers. The red neon lights on the walls give the room a red glow.
The Restrooms
The restroom entrance greets you with a neon light in the shape of a man with a giant hard-on. It’s the sexiest neon sign I’ve ever seen.
The restroom is very well designed.
Concrete sinks, dark colors, and large toilet stalls just big enough for two (if you know what I mean.)
The urinals are the shape of open mouths ready to swallow what you give them.
The walls are decorated with fun lights in the shape of cocks. It’s the best restroom design I’ve seen at any gay bar.
Overall, it’s spacious and very clean.
Speaking to the manager
During opening night, I sat with the manager and asked the questions I needed to obtain the proper information for this blog post.
I asked him, “Is this a sex club? Or is it a dance club? If I want to have sex here, can I? Or will I get thrown out?”
These questions are vital if you wish to understand the type of place Studs is.
I want to clear up any confusion because I love getting to the point and letting my readers know where they can have some fun.
The manager sat with me and said:
“This is not a sex club. If you want to dance, feel free. We have the space for it.”
“Regarding hooking up, the restroom is big enough for you to have fun. But if you decide to have sex in the club, it’s dark enough for you to find the perfect dark corner. And don’t worry, we’ll turn a blind eye.”
And there you have it. Even though Studs is not a sex club, hooking up is allowed.
But now, how do we test these theories? Because, as of now, they’re just theories.
Daddy’s Day
In order to test the “hook-up” theories, I decided to randomly head to Studs on a few occasions.
Even though opening night was packed, no one was hooking up. So I wanted to ensure this is a place where you can hook up.
So I went to their Fathers day festivities, or Daddy’s day as they called it.
The crowd was minimal.
Several groups came and left after a drink.
At one point, it was just two other people and me. However, the bartenders did a great job at chatting me up and keeping me entertained.
They want to make sure you’re having a good time.
So when a handsome daddy walked in wearing tight white shorts that enhanced his package, I thought, there’s no way he’s just here for a drink.
Later on that night, I saw him checking me out as he walked to the restroom. So I decided to take a peak.
As I took the stall next to him, I looked over, and he was hard. He sees me looking and throws me a smile.
But that’s where it ends. He later told me he’s in a monogamous relationship and doesn’t hook up.
Mission Failed.
…On to the next random night.
Friday’s in now JockStrap Night
New to the schedule is Jockstrap night. Now, every Friday is Jockstrap night. And what better night to test these theories than with a room full of already half-naked men? It’s also 2×1 drinks if you’re wearing a jockstrap.
So, I called a few friends to join, and we decided to meet there.
As my friends arrived, some brought their own friends. It was a lively group of guys. Although only a few came prepared to take it off.
Me and a couple of friends sported our jocks.
However, as the night went on, we met more people, and our group grew.
The friendly nature of the crowd is a great start to this night. Although, if I’m being honest, people will not approach you if you’re standoffish. Many guys were friendly and eager to make friends with other men.
As the night went on, so did the crowd.
And then, as if planned, everyone got horny.
Playing at Studs
At this point, one of my friends looks at me and says, “Don’t you have a theory about this place?”
I look down, and his enormous cock is out and hard as a rock.
As I look down, he says, “Don’t just look at it. Let’s test your theory!”
I don’t know if this caused a chain reaction, but when I turned around, half the room was getting theirs sucked on.

As I watched the bar staff walk around. None of them said anything. No one got in trouble.
In fact, they began giving away free shots of Tequila.
A Week Later
I went back a week later to see if this was a fluke. The place was packed again. Many men in sexy jocks.
But there were a lot fewer people playing. About two groups playing. A few were obviously cruising, but they did not seem to take the leap.
However, if you’re reading this article, I want you to know that you can (and should) get the party started with the men at Studs (even if no one is playing.) It’s a fantastic place to play.
The Men at Studs
Studs is a leather bear bar, so it’s important to understand that many bears come here. But it’s not just that. You’ll find all types of men here. Muscular, hairy types. Chasers, twinks, and beautiful locals showing off what they have.
You’ll love the openness of this place. I know I did.

Friday night is their new Jockstrap night. It’s fun and very sexy. Many men were here looking to play.
About 50 percent of guys got it on somewhere inside the venue. The staff was true to their word. They turned a blind eye.
Although I was there on other nights, there was no action. However, Jockstrap night is a game-changer.
Hopefully, jockstrap night continues and becomes more popular. It was so much fun.
