Puerto Vallarta is a gay party town. There’s always something new opening, something old closing, but it’s always exciting.

So I decided to create a list of five new[ish] gay bars that recently opened or are about to open.

1) Nox

Nox is first on my list. They opened about six months ago and it’s a place worth checking out.

They have two bars—one in an open-air space and one inside an air-conditioned room.

Their center courtyard is filled with great Tom of Finland-inspired art.

Inside their ACed room, they have a pole for those who wish to show off their pole dancing skills.

But that’s not the best part.

I love Nox because they’re not just a bar for us gays. They celebrate sexuality with an open mind.

If their male go-go dancers don’t get you going, their sex-inspired drinks will.

They have one specialty shot inside a dick-shape shot glass. It’s called the Pito-Shot (or cock shot.)

Other fun drinks you should try are Redrum, Grindr, Stong Cock, Nox, and the Kamasutra.

As you can see, there’s a lot of fun to be had at Nox.

However, I saved the best for last.

Nox also has TWO GLORY HOLES BEHIND THEIR RESTROOM! If this isn’t a reason to try them, I don’t know what is.

So check them out and perhaps have some fun playing in their glory holes.

I should also mention that the owner is a super great guy, easy to talk to, and handsome!

Update: Nox recently closed its doors permanently. But it looks like the owner opened a rooftop bar in a different part of town. However, as far as I know, it’s not a gay venue. Get the UPDATED list of gay bars in my 2024 gay PV travel guide on Etsy.

2) Studs

Their decore is something to behold. They have neon cocks lights that get hard and urinals the shape of mouths.

Studs is PVs first bear leather bar. They open on May 21st, 2022, and I am excited to check it out.

According to the news going around, Studs will be men-only. And you know what that means. Actually, I don’t know what it means…Yet!

So, I definitely want to keep my readers updated on how fun this place gets.

One thing I’m excited about is their “After Dark” that starts at 10 pm. It sounds sexy and elusive.

3) Therapy

Therapy is next door to Studs and opens TODAY May 20th, 2022.

This craft cocktail lounge is cute with sleek and high-end decore.

It’s great for those that want a delicious cocktail.

Although I’m not a big drinker, my mission here is to see what the clientele is like and how friendly they all get ;).

4) Bombon

UPDATE: Bombon is currently “Temporarily Closed.” Hopefully they will open soon.

Bombon opened about a year. They first caught my attention when they began their nude drawing sessions.

Any venue that allows nude gay men around is something I want everyone to know about.

Bombon is located in the Centro neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta, a short walk from La Zona Romantica.

They also have a cute balcony.

Bombon is known for its picturesque cocktails, like the one above.

5) Corner Bar

Corner Bar is a cute bar located on the corner of Insurgentes and Basilio Badillo.

It’s a small venue, but the bartenders are super cute and very friendly. Some are so cute. It was tough looking away.

The first time I walked inside, I felt like I was visiting family. I chatted with the bartenders about everything. We learned a lot from each other.

The venue is cozy and modern. The tight space makes it easy to make friends with people sitting next to you.
