The Ultimate Madrid Itinerary for Gay Madrid Travelers

Maybe I’m being a little too ambitious with my gay Madrid itinerary, or as I’m now calling it, the gay agenda, because it’s full of so many things.

This incredibly packed Madrid itinerary has many things because I plan on creating a gay Madrid travel guide, like the ones I sell on Etsy.

And even though “the gay agenda” has a plethora of gay venues to uncover, it also contains a few venues I need to update, some not-so-gay restaurants, tourist sites, museums, and more.

So, regardless of sexuality, I believe this is a great Madrid itinerary.

So, what’s in the works while I’m in Madrid? Read on and find out.

Flight Reports

I started traveling way before I discovered how to blog or even vlog on YouTube. So I’ve done most of these trips before. However, I’ve never documented them on the blog before.

I’m getting to Madrid via these flight routes, and it would be great to review my experience with a blog post, a vlog, or both.

Here are a couple of the flight reports I’m excited to write about:

LHR to MAD

Since I’ve done a couple of flight reports from LAX to LHR on British and American air, I’m going to skip that one.

But I haven’t written a report on LHR to MAD on British Air. Although it’s a short flight, I’m excited to share my experience. Also, it’s not like I’m flying in a fancy first-class seat, either. I purchased this half of my trip with points, and I’m in coach. Regardless, it’s fun to let people know what they should expect.

MAD to BER?

I once wrote a flight report from SXF (Schoenfeld Airport in Berlin) to MAD and MAD back to SXF. But then I think I deleted it because it was one of my first flight reports, and I didn’t care about grammar mistakes and errors. When I went back to read it, it was so illegible I decided it was best to delete it.

So, this time, I get to redo it! This flight is on Easy Jet one way.

BER TO CPH

After my long trip to Madrid, I’m heading back to Berlin for a few parties, then to Copenhagen to return home. This is also an Easy Jet flight.

CPH to LAX

I took a flight from Copenhagen to LAX before my blog, during the CheapOAir days, but now I get to redo it. And I don’t usually fly Delta Airlines, so I’m excited to experience what they’re like and report back on it.

But once I make it to Madrid, the gay agenda begins! And this is what I have in mind.

Put These Gyms on Your Madrid Itinerary

gyms in Madrid for your Madrid itinerary

I always feel the need to exercise abroad. That’s why I look for gyms in every city for tourists who don’t want to miss their workout routine.

I found a few low-cost gyms that offer day passes or are great for tourists. Some of these gyms include:

  • Fit Up
  • Basic Fit
  • McFit
  • Class Pass
  • GYMAGE
  • Opera Gym

Although I’m probably not going to review all the gyms, there’s a chance I will get a membership at one of these and maybe try day passes at others to include in my gay Madrid Travel guide when it’s completed.

In any case, it’s always great to have options. Once I’m in the city, I can confirm that these definitely allow tourists to join.

Now that I’ve reviewed some of these gyms, the question is, can a tourist use a gym within the city of Madrid? Find out here.

BiciMAD

BiciMAD is Madrid’s shared bicycle program. It helps you get around the city. Many cities have this now. In my opinion, it’s a great way to see the city while exercising.

Running at el Retiro Park

Or, if you’re a runner, try running at El Retiro Park. Not only is this park beautiful, but it’s big enough for anyone to run several miles a day.

Swimming

Find pools in Madrid and add a workout to your madrid itinerary

As a former swimmer, I always look for a pool to swim in. Whether or not I actually go swimming is entirely up to how lazy I am during my trip.

According to Swimmers Guide, there are many pools around town. I was able to find a 25-meter pool near my Airbnb. Maybe I’ll go check it out.

Saunas for Gay Cruising in Madrid and Ultimate Relaxation

gay Madrid travel guide cover page

Want true stories of what happens at the bathhouse? Get the only gay Madrid Travel guide designed to get you off in Madrid 🍆💦.

No gay Madrid trip should be left without visiting a gay sauna or two. I mean, this is the epitome of gay men’s relaxation, right, gentlemen? So, how about we go check them out and review them for the gay Madrid travel guide (coming soon)?

The Madrid gay district has many gay saunas. Although I’ve been to a couple, here are a few we might want to put on our list for later.

Sauna Gran Via

gay sauna for the gay madrid vacation

This sauna is a little confusing because it’s part of a hotel. But it’s supposedly a gay sauna, and does that mean it is a gay hotel? And can you use the sauna even if you’re not staying in the hotel? I’m sure you can, but to remove any confusion, maybe it’s time to check it out.

Sauna Gran Via is also in the Madrid gay district, Cheuca. Now, that’s four gay bathhouses within walking distance from my place. Oh my!

Also, none of their social media has really been updated in a while. Does that mean they’re closed permanently?

Sauna Center

gay madrid cruising at its best

There’s nothing like gay nudity. The Sauna Center is located inside the Madrid gay district. So, let’s go check it out and write an in-depth review. How’s that for the gay agenda?

Sauna Puerto De Toledo

As a big gay-friendly city, Madrid has gay saunas everywhere. This place advertises itself as a friendly sauna for gay men. Maybe it’s worth seeing how friendly the patrons are.

Sauna Lavapies

There is another gay sauna in Madrid to check out in the Lavapies neighborhood.

Gay Cruising in Madrid for Gay Madrid Travelers

Madrid is a hot gay destination. That’s because gay cruising in Madrid is high on the list of activities. And if you know anything about this blog, it’s a judgment-free zone. Therefore, this post includes gay cruising in Madrid and which gay venues you need to know for your trip.

Here are five venues to put on your gay Madrid itinerary!

The Meat Rack

gay madrid and cruising venues for your madrid itinerary

The Meat Rack is a “private” men and members-only space where gay men can play without judgment. Their IG says you need a passport to enter the venue, and they don’t have a website. So, I want to check it out and see what this place is all about. My reviews also get rid of any confusion people may have.

Check it my full and extended review of The Meat Rack here.

The Ring

The Ring is a space where gay men can live out their wildest fantasies, whether playing in a sling or being tied on a St. Andrews Cross. This place allows you that freedom.

It is 500 square meters of slings, crosses, wheels, sports machines, wet areas, glory holes, cages, dungeons, whips, handcuffs, and mazes. It is a space that I’ve heard guys at LabOratory say, “oh, this place is like The Ring in Madrid.”

Read my full, in-depth review of The Ring here.

Firewood Madrid

Firewood Madrid is another gay fetish bar in the city that lets you play. I knew very little about this place until a friend of mine took me on their busiest day. OH MY GOD. Well, let’s just say I said OH MY GOD for hours while I was there.

Read my review of the Firewood venue here.

Shower and Bar

There’s always a crowd near this place, so I can imagine it’s sexual gay heaven. But it’s confusing: Is it a gay bar? Or a gay sauna? Or both?

According to their website, it’s a bar with cruising spaces.

Regardless, it’s a perfectly fine place to play and review!

So far, this gay Madrid itinerary is off the hook!

This gay Madrid travel guide will show you where to cruise each day of the week, description of bars, their darkrooms, the men, how to approach them, and how many men you can get. The only adults only gay Madrid travel guide, now available to download on Etsy.

These 9 Sexy Gay Bars

If you follow my blog, you probably know by now that I make these lists for you as well as for me. So it is no surprise that I also want to hit up these 9 sexy gay bars I wrote about in this blog post.

Some are bear bars, while others are cruising bars. Either way, I’m eager to check out everything gay Madrid has to offer.

Updates on old gay bars

I’ve already reviewed the following gay venues. However, it’s been so long since the last time I visited it’s time for an update. And it’s easy because they’re in the Madrid gay area and since I’m staying there, it will be easy to visit and see what’s new.

Organic

add organic to your gay madrid itinerary
Their front door…

Organic Bar is a gay leather bar in Chueca, Madrid’s gay area. And even though I already have a review of Organic, they’ve had a major remodel since I’ve been. So let’s go see how different this place is and update this lovely and, may I say, outrageous review.

Sauna Octopus

gay madrid cruising
Another picture from their website…

Sauna Octopus was my first ever gay sauna experience. I really enjoyed my time here, but I must go back and see how things evolved over time. This gay bear sauna was amazing when I first went, but is it still the same?

Let’s go and find out.

Read my review of Sauna Octopus here. Now updated for 2023!

BoyBerry Madrid

BoyBerry needs an update. I did not like my experience there. However, since writing about my experience, I’ve received several emails telling me that I was just there on an off night. So let’s go back and see what it’s like when it’s crowded.

Sauna Paraiso

sauna paraiso

One of the best sauna experiences I’ve ever had was at Sauna Paraiso. This place is amazing. And if you’ve purchased my gay travel guides in the past, then you know I write extra juicy stories of the men, my encounters, and what you can do while there. There is only one way to get these stories: to live and write it!

Read my in depth review of Sauna Paraiso here.

Nightlife Tour

Or, if you prefer a guided tour, I’ve collaborated with Two Bad Tourists, a well-known gay travel blog, to include their very own nightlife tour.

The Cookie Lab

the ultimate madrid itinerary the cookie lab

I didn’t get the nickname “Cookie Monster” for no reason. I love cookies so much it’s literally unhealthy.

So it is no surprise that I found a terrific cookie cafe in this fantastic city. I don’t really drink, smoke, or do drugs, but I will eat those darn cookies til I’m sick!

Tapas Crawl

I want to eat a plethora of tapas while in Madrid. But this works best with groups of friends, and none of the people I’ve invited to come down with me can make it yet.

Although I would love to head to La Latina neighborhood and do a typical crawl down Calle Baja, it seems it is mostly a group thing where you order a beer and a dish to share. Then head to the next place until you’re belly is happy.

Street Fighter Dim Sum

amazing street fighter themed restaurant put this on your madrid itinerary

I’m a big fan of video games, arcades, and Asian cuisine. And this restaurant fuses both! Dim sum inside a Street Fighter-themed restaurant? Count me in!

Read my review of this fun restaurant here.

Sala Equix Adult Theater

adult theater in madrid

Since my blog contains a lot of sex and travel content, you shouldn’t be surprised that I found an adult theater with a nice restaurant inside of it. It seems it is a converted adult theater space.

QW Food Truck

amazing food in madrid

For tasty, gigantic, and somewhat sloppy food truck items a la American portions, head to QW FoodTruck. You’ll find street-style hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries.

Bendita Locura Coffee & Dreams

This restaurant and coffee shop look amazing. Although, if I’m being honest, it seems too fancy for me. But we’ll see if I can make it.

This place seems like they take food and their artsy presentation seriously.

Dosis Cafe

Dosis Cafe is just your typical cute coffee shop, and I loves me some cafe con leche. So why not give this place a try? Although, there might be a cute coffee shop around every corner, if I’m honest.

Yatai Market

asian markets in madrid

Yatai Market is a food court with only Asian food! Asian food is another weakness of mine. So you know I have to try at least one thing from this food court.

Read about the yummy food I had at Yatai Market in this blog post about food markets.

Museo del Jamon for inexpensive sandwiches

cheap and tasty foods for your madrid itinearary

Museo del Jamon (translated as the Museum of Ham) is a market selling very inexpensive ham sandwiches. I love me a bargain, so this place needs to be explored. There are several throughout the city of Madrid.

La Polleria

gay madrid or not, put this on your madrid list of things to do

No gay Madrid itinerary would be complete without penis. And what easier way to get penis than to buy it! La Polleria sells dick-shaped waffles on a stick. They come with tasty toppings so everyone can enjoy slurping on these massive phalluses.

Doing gay things in public! Thank you, gay Madrid. It may not be gay cruising in Madrid, but it’s darn close.

La Coneria

Don’t get those panties in a knot because if you’re not into cock you’re in luck. Down the street and around the corner from La Polleria, there is La Coneria.

Here you can purchase vagina-shaped waffles on a stick. So you can lick that clitoris til the cows come home.

La Polleria owns this place, and it’s located in the Madrid gay area.

Mad Gourmets

Mad Gourmets is an incredible gourmet food hall with many booths in a lovely setting. This place is sure to fulfill the foodie in anyone.

Read about my experience at MAD Gourmets in this blog post.

PORNEAT

PORNEAT gives you massive hamburgers that drip everywhere and make you feel like you’re about to burst. These almost obscene hamburgers need to be savored.

Fresh Noodle Factory

I love noodles. I would eat noodles every day if I could. So how about we explore the noodles in the beautiful city of Madrid! Fresh Noodle Factory is bound to satisfy.

A Few Things to Do in Madrid and Fun Sites to Encounter

Here are a few sites if you’re looking for things to do in Madrid. Although, in my opinion, just walking around this fantastic city is breathtaking. However, here are a few highlights you should check out.

Retiro Park

El Retiro Park is gorgeous, just like everything in Madrid. Think of El Retiro Park as their version of Central Park.

It’s big, with a huge lake—ample space for walking, running, and even biking around.

The Fallen Angel

black and white image of the fallen angel in madrid

This brings me to Satan’s Statue. It’s inside El Retiro Park. And it’s one, if not the only, public statue of the fallen angel.

So, if you’re into weird and unique sites to see, you should search for this statue while you’re at the park.

Atocha Station

Atocha Station is a central train station in Madrid. The first time I saw it, I went by chance because someone recommended a restaurant inside of it. It was beautiful, and I didn’t know the place’s name because my partner was navigating. Since it was only a one-night layover on our way to Marocco, he soon forgot the name.

It was so impressive I searched for years to figure out what this place was.

Atocha station has an amazing garden inside an old world station surrounded by incredible restaurants. If there’s one place I need to see again, it’s this station.

Templo de Debod

egyptian temple in madrid
At Parque de Oeste, in the middle of Madrid!

Templo de Debod is a unique site to see in Madrid. It’s an Egyptian temple in between the beautiful European skyline.

I went a few years ago, but I’m putting this information here in case you’re looking for something unique to see.

Art in the Spanish City for Your Madrid Itinerary

I’m a HUGE art lover. In fact, I almost changed my entire blog to be about art and sex. But I just cannot do museums anymore. I’ve burned out on museums so badly that any museum I attend has to be outrageous and incredibly unique for me to go now.

Therefore, I’ve compiled a list of art-related things to do in Madrid. So put this on your Madrid itinerary because these exhibitions will blow you away.

Matadero

Matadero is an old slaughterhouse turned into a giant industrial art space! How fun is that? Not only is that incredible, but this place creates art installations and has regular art shows and events.

Matadero is a place to see, even if it’s only to see the venue. But events change often. Check their website before you go.

Art and Wine Classes

Like art? Or maybe you want to take an art class? I found a class that gives you unlimited wine while you paint. The best part is you don’t have to be good at art.

Even if you are good at art, the wine might transform your style into a swirly wave of beauty.

Sweet Space

Sweet Space is a museum that’s colorful and artsy. It’s made for the Instagrammers who want that photo opportunity. Think of Willy Wonka meets Museum of Illusions.

It’s kind of like the Museum of Ice Cream that popped up in The States a few years ago.

IKONO Immersive art

IKONO Madrid is an immersive and interactive art space that lets you be a part of the art. It is located in the Lavapiés neighborhood. If you’re looking for one-of-a-kind pictures and experience, IKONO is for you.

Check out my full review of Ikono Museo Madrid. This place is amazing!

La Neomudéjar Museum

Incredible industrial and immersive art transports you to a thoughtful avant-garde space to rediscover urban art, performance, sound art, and video, depending on the exhibition.

Read about my experience at Museo Neomudejar and the great exhibition I saw.

Urban Art Workshop (El Keller)

El Keller provides graffiti art lessons. They have an open workshop every Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. TO 10:00 P.M. where you can come, spray paint, teach, explore, or learn about techniques.

It also has a gallery dedicated to urban artists.

La Fiambrera

La Fiambrera is a fun art store with a cute collection of things you can buy to take home. It makes for great souvenirs if you like pop art and colorful art.

Coleccion Solo

It’s an oddly strange art installation that might be too odd for most people. In any case, it looks fantastic. It contains everything from fun paintings to dog people sculptures.

Such an amazing exhibition. I am so glad I went. Read my review of Coleccion Solo here.

Let’s break it down:

So there you have it—a giant list of things to do in Madrid. Pick any or all of these for your ultimate Madrid itinerary.

Many of the venues I want to check out are on this list. Bookmark this post for your future travels as well.

We haven’t even started talking about shopping. But maybe that’s for another post.
