Some Pre-Planning

Before coming to Madrid, I researched, and there is nothing on their website. I couldn’t find any reviews. Nothing that says Bears Bar in Madrid is a wild, sexy den of sin, where gay bears can be free to be lusty.

Ultimately, this was just another bear bar in my eyes.

The naked night info is minimal, to say the least, but I discovered it’s once a month. Thankfully, I’m here for this month’s naked party. Naturally, I decided to go and review it.

Bears Bar Madrid

Bears bar is a small, thin bar. It does not have a dark room, and I haven’t heard anything about it, so I didn’t know whether it would be sexy or awkward.

I took a shower, got ready, and went. I would leave if I thought it was terrible, but I was very nervous.

So I arrive an hour and a half into the start of the party, and there is no line out the door, which tells me that there are not many people.

I opened the door, and bar employee standing right behind the door explained to me:

“Here’s a plastic bag, and here is a bracelet. They both have your number on it. Put all your clothes in this bag and submit it behind the bar. Show the bartender your number every time you want a drink. Pay before you leave.

There’s a two-drink minimum. Enjoy.”

Super nervous, I continue to walk inside. It is so busy. It’s shoulder to shoulder, and I am a little shy and hesitant at this point, not to mention the lights are bright, so you cannot hide any blemishes. 

I have acne on my chest that I’m really self-conscious of. I didn’t know how to hide my acne scars with the lights on at full blast.

I proceeded anyway.

I took off my clothes, put them in the bag, and the bartender next to me said, “Submit this to the bartender in the back.”

Now, I have to do the walk of shame all the way from the front of the bar to the end, where the second bar is located.

The Men at Bears Bar Madrid

The one thing I love about bear bars is their inclusiveness of all body types, ages, ethnicities, and hairiness.

I find bear bars to be very fun, attractive, and free from body shaming others.
