The next day we drive to Charlottetown just to experience the big city. Its quaint. We drove by their mall and movie theater. There are cute stores everywhere, one called Muffins and Stuff. We stopped by the university and inquired about using the pool.
We got to the downtown area, parked and looked for a coffee shop we could take in and relax for a bit.
So far this part of the trip is relaxing but frustrating without internet. My fight or flight senses are on as I watch my back for mosquitos. I doused myself with bug spray throughout the day but you can’t be too sure.
I have a cup of coffee and a cookie. After our coffee break, we walk around and took in the city. Charlottetown is small! They had a great looking cathedral and lots of Anne of Green Gable’s stores… Everything from stores to souvenir shops.
We stop to get some gummy’s and chocolate covered chips. Then we got in the car to drive around the city one last time before heading back to the cottage. As we head back to the cottage we realize we should explore more of the island. We drive around the green pastures and beaches for a good hour or two. We check out a few touristy lighthouses before calling it a day.
Let me break it down for you:
- Charlottetown is SMALL.
- Its a cute and quick day trip.
- Quaint coffee shops and antique stores.
- Anne of Green Gables chocolate covered chip stores.
- Real downtown problems, like traffic, angle parking and meters.
