Amazing Korean Fried Chicken in Berlin: Chicken Coma

The name is catchy, and the logo is super cute. I love it. It’s a person sleeping with a drumstick in their hand, and the drumstick has a happy face on it. It embodies everything this place really is.

Chicken Coma is located at Wichertstraße 18, 10439 Berlin, Germany. It is situated in an up-and-coming neighborhood where people flock to.

So I decided to venture and find out just how delicious Chicken Come really is. And I loved it.

Finding Chicken Coma

Finding Chicken Coma from my neighborhood felt like a mission, but it wasn’t too bad. With a couple of transfers on the U-Bahn, I got to Schönhauser Allee, and I was ready for some tasty chicken.

Chicken heaven, here I come. I am ready for you.

The restaurant

The restaurant is small, and I’m glad there was no line. I thought I might need a reservation because I’ve recently heard a lot of people talking about this place.

But there were only a few tables taken.

I got excited as I approached the door; I overheard a couple of guests who were leaving saying how good the food was. My mouth began to water just hearing it.

I wanted to try so much of it. And since Rasmus is with me, I thought we could order a few things and share.

Ordering

The menu is small, but let me walk you through it.

You first must choose the type of meat from the chicken you want. You can choose chicken thighs, wings, or plant-based. Choose whether you want them deboned or with a bone. Next, choose the preparation.

Mind you, I went strictly for the Korean Fried Chicken, but they have rice bowls, side dishes, and plenty of sauces to choose from.

So, I chose the Korean Fried Chicken thighs without bones. Then, I decided on Honey Butter Chicken and Cream & Sprinkle Chicken. And I really wanted another platter, but I was so full with these two.

If I’m being honest, I should have ordered more because I feel like I’m missing out on some tasty, saucy Korean fried chicken.

It Came Out Quickly

When the food came out, I had to stop myself from looking like a chicken-eating maniac because it looked so good and smelled amazing. I had to relax. I’m in public.

Visually, it appealed to all my senses.

And then I tasted the Honey Butter Chicken. And it was so tasty and so tender.

Rasmus and I split each dish. We had half of each.

Then I tried the Cream & Sprinkle Chicken. While that was good, the Honey Butter Chicken was spectacular. It’s so good. I’m pretty sure I’m going to dream about it.

The worst part of the experience was finishing the chicken and realizing you’re too full for more.

I have only tried two of their six preparations, and I want more. Perhaps this means I have to go back and get some more.

Let’s break it down:

Chicken Coma is Korean Fried Chicken that is tasty and affordable.

I paid 13 euros for each and added a drink.

If you’re in Berlin and need your chicken fix, head to Chicken Coma and get way more than I did because now I really want to go back and eat some more.
