Interesting places in Paris: Bar Edition

A venue that offers more than a drink is so fascinating to me. I mean, I want to be transported to another place in time (or galaxy). And there are so many cute and interesting places in Paris where you can sip a cocktail or mocktail. I should mention that these bars are not gay bars. They are simply unique and interesting. Put these on your list next time you’re in town.

1) O’Chupito Bar

O’Chupito Bar is known for its 500-plus shot recipes. Not only is this fun, but the space looks like a gothic underground church inside a cave. As you might already know, Paris is known for its underground spaces. And this bar boasts the city’s uniqueness throughout its space. This is one of many interesting places in Paris to try.

2) Lucha Libre Bar

Like wrestling? This bar is adorned by Mexican art and bright colors to make you feel like you’re about to witness a Mexican wrestling match. As a Mexican American, I am in love with this idea. It’s also the only space in Paris with a wrestling ring.

3) La Mezcaleria

Speaking of Mexican, how about a bar that specializes in Mezcal and is decorated like Dia de los Muertos? Yes, this place seems cute enough to pique my interest.

I, too, want a drink that says “No Mames” on it.

4) The Epitome of Interesting Places in Paris: La Dernier Bar Avec La Fin Du Monde

I love this concept so much. Translated as The Last Bar at The End of the World, it is inspired by popular science fiction novels.

“The Last Bar at the End of the World” is a sanctuary for science fiction, fantasy, manga, TV series, films, and fantastical literature fans. Visitors can enjoy a cocktail while reading sci-fi, playing games, and eating. It is also a social place to make friends.

Since I love horror, sci-fi, and fantasy in video and written form, this place feels like my home away from home. It is definitely the most interesting place on this list.

5) La Reverie

La Reverie is a bar restaurant with chic and majestic decor. The bar has beautiful hanging plants, and the ceiling is adorned with glowing clouds.

This place looks like it brings you the style and uniqueness only a city like Paris can provide.

6) Solera

Although Solera is typically chic, it takes its mixology seriously. It crafts its cocktails to look like something out of a witch’s cauldron, and each cocktail is perfectly picturesque.

Come here and drink your potion of choice.

7) Bar Nouveau

I love art, and any place that makes you feel like you’re sitting inside a painting is great. But what makes this interesting is that the bar and venue itself took art nouveau to an architectural level.

8) Bisou

Consider this: You walk into a bar and have no idea what you want. So you tell the bartender, “Make me something with gin, lemon… something that reminds me of summer.” The bartender works his magic and brings you a beautiful cocktail with the liquors you want that tastes amazing.

That’s the concept of Bisou. In fact, it doesn’t even have a menu. It’s up to you and your taste. This is definitely an interesting place in Paris you might want to visit.

9) Lavomatic

Paris speakeasy

Lavomatic is a speakeasy. From the outside, it looks like a laundry mat. The hidden door is one of the washing machines. But the other machines are actual machines, so you might have to hunt for the entrance. Once you crawl through the washing machine, you can enjoy your beverage inside the bar space.

10) Player One

Bar in Paris that's video game themed
Interesting places in Paris: Player One

I love video games. I’m not a gamer per se; I’m more of a VR enthusiast. However, Player One has created a quirky venue with iconic video game elements.

This place will make you remember what it’s like to play your favorite video game for the first time.

I’m placing this one at the end because I am not sure if this place is for large events only or if you can go individually and just sit and sip a drink. I guess I’ll know more once I’m actually in the city.

Let’s Break It Down:
