We arrived at 11pm. Tired and ready to sleep. If you’ve been to Chicago, you know that it takes about an hour to get from the airport to downtown Chicago using their public train system. Fortunately, I did not have to go far.
We booked the Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport which is literally located inside of the airport. All you have to do is follow the signs. In fact, you don’t even have to go outside. It’s all connected which is great if it’s snowing.
We followed the signs, took an escalator to a lower level and checked in. The room was basic. One king size bed, comfortable. It had a runway view. You could see the planes coming and going in the morning. It was nice. Noise? No noise. I slept like a baby. The AC was powerful and the blankets were perfect.
The restroom was basic as well but it came with all you needed for one night of good sleep. Unless you’re sleeping in the tub, I wouldn’t worry. It had it all and I was satisfied and glad this hotel was so convenient.
The airport is not convenient to any Chicago sites, but that wasn’t the point of staying here.
I did not feel like getting on a train to Downtown Chicago and then walking to whatever hotel we needed to find at midnight. All I needed was this sweet sweet bed.
In the morning, we got up and ate at the breakfast buffet which was included with the hotel. After eating, we packed our bags, checked out and headed to the train station.
Let me break it down for you:
- Not convenient to anything.
- I paid with points but I hear its pricey.
- It has a gym, a spa and a restaurant…
Airport Hotels are great… They charge your for the convince but if you get in late and all you need is a bed, you might as well do it.
