These Gay Venues Around the World Need Your Help!

Covid-19 is a problem. It’s not just a health risk, but it’s single-handedly destroying economies and small businesses. Even though lockdowns are curbing infection rates (and that’s really good), it’s causing many of our beloved LGBT venues to permanently shut down. However, here is a small list of gay venues we can help today. By donating or sharing this blog post, we can reach people that can help these gay establishments survive pandemonium.

Did I miss a venue you think should be on this list? Feel free to contact me with information others need to know.

In any case, feel free to click around and donate to these bars below.

1. The Vault 139 in London

Vault 139 in London

Vault 139 in London is one of the best gay establishments I’ve been to. It’s decadent and fun. You won’t leave this venue without a great night. Actually, you might think the night is too short. Check out my review of Vault 139 here.

So, how can you help Vault 139? They’ve created a frequent visitors app that is 10 Pounds to purchase. The app is great because, unlike a donation, you are getting something for it, even if you may not be a frequent visitor.

The app gives you updates on events and frequent visitor discounts. The best thing about the app isn’t the app itself. It’s the fact that we are helping this establishment stay afloat during the lockdown. We definitely DO NOT want this venue to shut permanently.

Here is a link to their app on the app store and in the Google library. If you’re interested in checking out their website you can find it here.

Don’t want to purchase the app? Share this article so others can help as well.

2. The New Jalisco Bar in Los Angeles

The New Jalisco Bar in Downtown LA is very cute. It’s simple, but it gives you a great feel for what a gay bar in Mexico might be like. Although I’ve only been here a couple of times, I’ve felt the ambiance of this place leaves you with a sense of stepping into another country just by walking into it.

They have a GoFundMe page where you can donate. Currently, they’ve raised a lot of money, but they still haven’t reached their goal.

3. Fubar West Hollywood (Los Angeles)

I was born and raised in LA. Therefore, it might come as no surprise that I find LA a little tame. However, that’s where Fubar is different. They’re one of the few venues picking up the steam for the rest of the city. Their decadent Big Fat Dick night attracts guys with the biggest, fattest cocks in Los Angeles who are ready to show them off. Needless to say, this bar needs to stay.

I have stories for you about Fubar!

Fubar also has a GoFundMe page. They’ve almost reached their goal, but they’re not asking for a lot. So let’s help them out by donating or sharing this post so someone else can donate.

4. De Spijkerbar in Amsterdam

Decadent Spijkerbar in Amsterdam

If you’ve ever been to Amsterdam, you are probably aware that it’s a place to get your rocks off and have fun, let loose and perhaps hook up with that perfect stranger. But not if the bars start to close, and that’s why we need to help bars in Amsterdam like De Spijkerbar.

De Spijkerbar has a GoFundMe page where they raise money for their rent since the government won’t fund them due to new owners purchasing the bar before the closure.

I’m a firm believer that a place you can get a drink and play in a room of gloryholes needs to stick around.

Here is the link to their GoFundMe page. Let’s help them stay afloat so we can venture to Amsterdam once the pandemic is over!

5. Underground in Buffalo, New York

Underground is a gay bar in Buffalo, New York, and they need our help. With so many places in distress, Underground was not able to get any government relief funds to help them out. So they are asking us for help.

Here is their GoFundMe page. Like any GoFundMe campaign, you can donate as little as you want or as much as you want. Even $1 helps out our beloved establishments.

6. Golden Lantern Bar, New Orleans

Ever been to NOLA? New Orleans is a fun destination with many things to do. I accidentally went during Southern Decadence and was blown out of my mind.

The Golden Lantern Bar is one of the original gay bars in the city, and it will be sad to see this bar go.

The Golden Lantern has a GoFundMe page, and all of their donations go to keeping the bar afloat during the pandemic.

If the US government is able to bail out Wall Street, we can do our part to help keep our gay bars afloat.

Click here for their donation page.

7. Frat House, Garden Grove

The Frat House is in Orange County, California.

Orange County is a big area with very few gay bars, so let’s not let the pandemic take one of the few it already has.

The Frat House still has a lot to go to reach its goal on its GoFundMe page. Let’s help them out if you can.

Here is their GoFundMe page.

8. Lone Star Saloon, San Francisco

The Lone Star Saloon in San Francisco is a fun bear/leather bar in the SoMa district. It’s one of the bars you can enjoy during the Folsom Street Fair.

The crowd is always fun, and it’s easy to make friends.

How can you help Lone Star Saloon? Since the lockdown, they’ve had to think on their toes to stay afloat. So they’ve created a fun store where you can buy fun t-shirts, kinky leather clubs, or some fatty dicks for that dick collection in your basement.

When lockdown first started they began a promotion called “Sit On My Face.”

This cleverly titled promotion allowed bar patrons to engrave their face on the leg of a barstool for a price.

Another awesome promotion was their Lone Star 500 Club where bar-goers were encouraged to purchase numbered key straps. Once the pandemic is over and Lone Star reopens The Lone Star 500 Club and everyone who purchased a key strap will have parties you can only get into if you have a key strap.

Check out their store and feel free to purchase something. No worries if you can’t buy something, just share this post with a friend so they can potentially help out.

Let me break it down for you:

I know there are probably hundreds of gay venues that should be on this list. So if I missed your favorite gay establishment and they need help, email me, and I will put them on this list.

Feel free to share this list with friends and family. The pandemic has ruined so much already. Let’s try to help as much as we can by saving these gay establishments.

Don’t have money to donate? No worries, share this article so others can help as well.
