Club Sapphire Review, A Boutique Hotel | Puerto Vallarta

This is a Club Sapphire review but first a fun fact about my blog. We just turned one! Yay. It’s been one full year since I started blogging about my adventures. I really want to thank all of my readers. I want to give my returning readers a virtual hug and my commenters a virtual kiss! Thank you very much for being here and enjoying my blog and interacting with me. It really means a lot to me!

The next fun fact about my blog, even though I travel often and have been for years, my first post was a flight report to Puerto Vallarta. You can read it here: http://designinglife.biz/coach-fare-to-puerta-vallarta-on-american-airline. Therefore, It’s really cool that I’m returning to Puerto Vallarta a year later for a few new reviews and experiences. I hope you enjoy them.

Lets Get To It!

We landed in PVR airport in no time. I was excited, to say the last. This cute but tiny airport is easy but walking outside is like throwing bait in a shark tank. There are many hustlers trying to sell you a bit of everything. They shout and wave at you in English and Spanish. I remembered this from last time and I thought, I’m gonna ignore everyone and head straight to the Taxi counter to buy my voucher.

The yellow taxi cab stand is near the airport’s entrance. There’s a row of 4 or 5 stands next to each other. However, it has been a year since I was last here.

As I ignored each person trying to sell me tourist packages I get to the end and can’t remember where the taxi stand is. I’m at the end, where is it? Finally a guy comes up to me and says “Taxi?” Yes. I need a taxi, but he points to a stand that I am not familiar with. At this point my partners New York attitude comes out and tells me to keep walking because that’s not the correct stand. I’m confused. We are near the exit. Wait. This exit is new. We are being funneled into the main airport terminal. The taxi stands are further away.

We buy our taxi voucher and grab a cab. To be completely honest, I hate this experience. Even waiting for a taxi you’re not really sure whats going on. There are hordes of people. So if you’re trying to figure out how to get from the Puerto Vallarta airport and into the city read up on it here.

Anyway, a man in a white shirt comes over and asks to see my voucher. He flags down a taxi and proceeds to herd us into the cab. We give our driver the address and major hotels next to ours as a reference point.

Club Sapphire Review

The last time I was in Puerto Vallarta, we rented a few chaise lounges here for $200MX per day per person, which at the moment is about $10 USD each. We enjoyed sitting on the sand, soaking up the sun and eating Club Sapphire’s great food. Therefore, we thought, next time we’ll be staying here. I thought it would be inappropriate to do a Club Sapphire review last time since we didn’t stay here. However, now that I am staying here I am all about it.

This wouldn’t be a Club Sapphire review if I didn’t tell you how cute it is. There are four suites right on the beach and other rooms across the street. However, we wanted a suite on the beach. The suites are directly in front of a long and slender dipping pool with water so cold and refreshing it shocks your system every time. Trust me, it’s something you’re going to like with this humidity.

Club Sapphire’s restaurant is cute and tasty

The restaurant is beautifully made. It’s a touch of modern with rustic beach furniture. It blends into its environment easily. The food here is delicious. I tried pretty much everything on the menu and loved it all. You can’t go wrong eating here.

The waiters are very attentive and very charismatic. They are polite and seem genuine. Considering this is a luxury branded boutique hotel, I imagine they love their tips and always keep a smile on their face.

Club Sapphire’s restaurant… just another angle.

The hotel is located next to Blue Chairs gay hotel and club. Actually this entire area is considered a gay area. They call it La Zona Romantica or the Romantic Zone. Interchangeably, the city calls it the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood.

Considering, it’s in the heart of the gay zone, you could imagine the many men lounging in the skimpiest of Speedos and swimwear they can find. It makes for great eye candy when you’re just enjoying the blue sky, the sound of the waves.

Club Sapphire’s kitchen area… The entire things is on the sand.

The Suite

We are greeted by the amazing concierge who is so nice she is almost motherly. I really enjoyed speaking to her each time.

She takes us to our room, which is the first suite and gives us a walk through. There is a bottle of Champagne and two champagne flutes. I don’t need expensive Champagne, it can be cheap liquor store champagne and I’ll be impressed. Champagne is one of my go-to drinks, even the cheap kind! Therefore, it made an impression.

The room is spacious. It has a king size bed a flat screen TV, a lounge area with a couch and a kitchenette. The kitchenette is equipped with everything you need, including a coffee pot and a mini fridge for any leftovers you might have to a small dinning table for two.

It’s decorated in beautiful rustic browns and oranges with some blues thrown in. The restrooms were spacious and beautiful. It had a double vanity and a gorgeous rain shower.

The room also came with a desk area and spacious closet space for your luggage and other attire.

For about $300 USD per day, you are in beach heaven.

I took pictures but none of my pictures really make a justice to how beautiful the suites are. Considering we spread out as soon as we got there. Our suite became a mess quickly. We got comfortable and we called this place home for another week.

In case you prefer video. In this video I walk you through Sapphire Gay Ocean Beach club and hotel. Its a simple video but worth a look.

Let me break it down for you:

Club Sapphire has four beautiful suites beach and poolside for about $300 USD per night during the holidays.

The suites are spacious and perfect.

If you don’t want to rent a room at Club Sapphire, rent a chaise lounge for about $10 USD per day.

The restaurant is amazing and affordable.

The pool is cold and refreshing.

Club Sapphire is right on the sand! Check out their website just in case you need more info: http://sapphire.mx/

I hope you enjoyed my Club Sapphire review. If you did, please feel free to share it or leave me a comment. Gracias! Let’s get some travel in!

Congrats on your 1st year of blogging! I so need to visit Puerto Vallarta, I haven’t been on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. I was expecting some pictures of the guys in speedos (just for the sake of it). 🙂
Oh, btw I just clicked on the Sapphire link and the website is in English. But I saw the option on the right top side of the page to select the language between Spanish and English.
