Yotel Hotel London Heathrow Airport | Is It Worth It?

Pod hotels and tiny rooms are fascinating. They fascinate people all over the world. The Yotel Hotel is no different. This pod hotel is cute, different and very convenient.

The Yotel Hotel in London Heathrow Airport is located inside terminal 4. Although, I should mention if you’re connecting in LHR (London Heathrow) you will need to leave security to find the Yotel. If you’re connecting from a different country, you will need to immigrate to get to it.

The signs around Heathrow Airport are not very obvious. You might need to ask around to find it. I can tell you from experience, I got lost looking for it. After a few circles inside LHR, I finally arrived.

Yotel Hotel London Heathrow Terminal 4 map
Here is a small map of Heathrow airport Terminal 4 where you’ll find the Yotel Hotel. I wish I had this map when I was looking for it.

You check in, they give you a room number and presto, you locate your room. The rooms are so cute and so incredibly tiny. They have rooms for different group sizes. They have a room for one person. There’s a room for two and a room for three.

I was traveling alone this day so I booked a stay in their smallest room. The room for one. The Yotel room is literally made to look like a first class cabin on a plane. It’s what I imagine Emirates first class to be. It’s very novel but also very well designed when it comes to spacial efficiency.

Yotel Room Details

If you stand in the middle of the room, you can touch both walls with you hands. To give you a sense of how small it is. Although, I can’t say for sure how small it really is, its got to be somewhere along the lines of 6ft by 10ft if you include the area the bed takes up.

The bed is very comfortable. It includes a flat screen TV and a phone. You have light switches right next to you on the bedside. In the middle of the room there’s a folded table hanging from the wall, right below a mirror. You can unfold it you’re trying to eat or do something.

The Yotel has 24 hour room service as well. They have coffee and tea free all day long. The food is not free, you do have to pay for those.

Above the table there’s a luggage compartment where you can place your bag. It’s not very big, but you can put a large carry-on size bad up there.

To the far left of the Yotel room is the restroom. It’s about shoulder width. One side has the shower and the other side has the toilet. Right in the middle you have a sink and a mirror. Behind the toilet there is a small shelf with other necessities like extra toilet paper and such. It’s surprising how space efficient this little place is.

The door itself has a window with a curtain you can open and close. Behind the door there’s a folded stool to sit on.

They’ve really thought of everything here.

Yotel Room Floor Plans

This is the room I stayed in. Here is the floor plan. According to this image the room is 3×2 meters or 9 by 6 feet.
This is the Yotel room for 2 people. The bed is a sofa bed, but its more than that. it not a pull-out its more of a convertible with a remote control…
Yotel Room London Heathrow Airport terminal 4 room for 3
This is the floor plan for the Yotel room for 3 people. It’s essentially a set of bunk beds. One bed is a single person bed, which is above. There is a queen size bed below it, made for two people. Although I gotta say, I think these might be new… I honestly didn’t think they had bigger rooms than the room for 2. But I’m glad they’re expanding their horizons.

Prices for Yotel Heathrow Airport

This Yotel is the least expensive of all Yotels they’ve made. It’s roughly 10 pounds per hour (12 USD or so). Considering some people may only need it for a couple of hours to nap and get back on a plane, I think it’s a screaming deal.

I booked it for 6 hours. I arrived from Madrid late and left early. The price was about 60 pounds. Although, I’ve noticed the longer your stay is, the cheaper it is. For example, if you book for 8 hours or longer, it comes up to 7 pounds per hour and so on.

I’ve looked at staying at the Yotel in New York City, but it’s literally a few hundred dollars to stay in it. It’s not as convenient and cheap as the London Heathrow Airport one. It’s almost disappointing. However, Yotel London is a good bargain and very comfortable and most of all convenient!

I was only there for the night but I enjoyed my stay. If any of you manage to get some food from the cafe, I would love to know if its tasty. Leave me a comment and let me know!

Let Me Break It Down For You:

Yotel Hotel London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 is cute, convenient and cheap.

Is it worth it? As far as the one in London Heathrow is concerned, yes, 100% worth it!

It’s about 10 pounds per hour

If you are connecting at LHR you will have to leave security or immigrate to find it.

It’s tiny and novel but super cute.

Currently the Yotel company is rebranding the airport Yotels and calling them YotelAir. The ones inside cities like New York Cities are called Yotel Hotels now, which means they are way more expensive. Although I havent stayed in any of the other ones, the one in NYC is about 300-400 USD per night. Not worth the price in my eyes.
