Victoria Peak & Everything You Need to Know Before You Go

If I remember correctly getting to Victoria Peak is probably the complicated part. Perhaps it’s because I did it so long ago. If you use the MTR get off at Central Station in the heart of Hong Kong island. From here, take exit J2.

Get ready to walk up hill a bit. Walk past the Bank of China Tower and Citibank Plaza on your left. It’s a small uphill walk but its the start of an adventure. You will definitely see signs as you walk. Don’t worry, you will not get lost.

Once you get to the tram you’ll take the famous Victoria tram to the top of the mountain.

That’s the hard part.

A Site to be Seen

Once you get off the tram you’ll notice that you have to go through souvenir shops to get outside, which is typical of Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a major shopping destination and there

You’ll start to see the beautiful views from the tram… It just gets more exciting as you continue your journey upwards.

are stores everywhere. Malls in many buildings. Some of the malls are 12 stories tall. There is never a shortage of malls of shops to get anything you want.

Once you get outside you’ll see the incredible views. There aren’t many places to see how beautiful this city is from afar but this is one of them. It’s great from here.

From Victoria Peak, the buildings seem like small toys to me. If you’re looking around the Victoria Peak Plaza, you’ll notice many panoramic views of different parts of Hong Kong island. There is also a mall on the Peak itself. Just in case you have a sudden urge to go crazy-shopping. There are several restaurants some authentic Cantonese cuisine and other westernized restaurants as well.

I was lucky enough to go early and not have any lines or waits. I didn’t wait for the tram or anything. I suppose people like going for sunset. I don’t care about those things haha. As long as I get to go I’m fine with it.

Let me break it down for you:

If its your first time in Hong Kong you definitely have to check out the views from Victoria Peak.

Is it worth it? Yes, but go early because this tourist destination is one of the most popular in HK.

For everything you need to know about Victoria Peak, check out the Victoria Peak Tram’s website: https://www.thepeak.com.hk/en here you’ll find more information about the shopping, the dinning, the schedule and prices for the trams.

The first time I went to HK about 5 years ago is when I made my first YouTube video. Its horrible, but check it out, there is a small snippet of Victoria Peak here as well.
