Things change so quickly these days. It’s essential to re-visit covid-19 policies and procedures. However, at the time I’m writing this, NYC is asking for two negative covid tests.
These two tests have to be done within two different time frames. You must receive your first negative result 72 hours before you arrive in New York City. The second test has to be within four days after your arrival.
It’s very strict, but I understand why they’re doing it.
New York City is also locking down again. All restaurants and bars have to shut by 10 pm.
Venues also must only operate at 25% capacity.
Masks are mandatory everywhere. Everyone must wear them, no exception.
Depending on where you’re coming from, you might have different Covid resources available to you in your home town.
As for New York City, they’re trying hard to make covid tests easily available for everyone.
Ensure you print your first covid test before arriving at JFK because they are checking people’s results upon landing.
So Where Can You Get an NYC Covid Test When You Arrive?
Certain Wallgreens and CVS’s are testing, and they accept insurance.
Here is the website for Wallgreens testing: https://www.walgreens.com/findcare/covid19/testing
I find CVS to be more difficult, but here is their website just in case: https://www.cvs.com/minuteclinic/covid-19-testing.
Here is an entire list of places you can get a covid test in Manhattan: https://www.manhattanbp.nyc.gov/manhattancovidtesting.
Keep these resources in mind when you head to NYC because even though things might be tough right now, it doesn’t have to be.
I hope this helps with your trip.
Please stay safe and be smart about things when traveling.
