I’m excited about Diablitos Cantina. Although it’s only been open for about a month, it has a LOT of potential.
So I walked in there and sat with the owner, who gave me a quick tour and told me about his ideas for the future of his bar.
Diablitos Cantina in Puerto Vallarta Jalisco
Diablitos Cantina is located at Basilio Badillo 329, Zona Romántica in Puerto Vallarta Jalisco. It’s on the same street as Studs and a few doors down from Corner Bar.
In its current form, the bar itself is super cute but small.
They purchased two adjacent buildings to have enough space for their bar and upcoming plans. In the future, this venue will be twice the size.
Although only half of the property is open, the entire property goes from Basilio Badillo to the next block, which is Venustiano Carranza.
So when you walk inside, you’ll only have access to the first half. But it’s great, and they are very friendly. Not to mention the prices are great!
The Bar
Upon walking in, you’ll notice the bar. The bar is decorated with awesome Mexican decor, which is fantastic. The artwork with their logo of a handsome devil is cute and sexy. We all love handsome devils.
If you walk towards the back, you’ll notice an open area for sitting and lounging.
This area has many tables for you and your friends. The neon lights are fantastic.
My favorite is the one that reads: SMILE, LAUGH, TALK, DRINK , DANCE, EAT ASS
Even the paintings on the wall are great. You’ll have a good time Instagramming the venue.
The Future of Diablitos Cantina
As I sipped my beverage, the owner made small talk with me. It made for a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. When I realized he was one of the owners, I asked him questions about the venue and ideas for the future.
By the way, the owners are Antoño Castañeda and Ron Thomas. I was chatting with Antoño.
Antoño gave me a tour of the place and showed me the unconstructed area that’s currently blocked off.
There are currently two big spaces with one wall in the middle. He said he is planning on constructing a men-only darkroom. It’s a large space.
He also told me that he wants this venue to be clothing-optional at any time of day or night.
So, currently, his front door is made of glass. Therefore, he will eventually cover or frost it, so nudity is allowed.
He wants this space to be a sex-positive, gay men’s haven, and I am ALL FOR IT!
I asked Antoño when he plans to open the darkroom, and he said construction is going slowly, but he plans to open those spaces soon. Hopefully, it happens ASAP because all-day gay naked venues are a mighty fine thing.
So let’s go support them now so that they can become a staple in the gay community, in the nude community, and in sex-positive spaces.
Puerto Vallarta is an incredible gay destination, and I am so glad Diablitos Cantina is making its mark on the scene.
