EVERYONE NEEDS TO HAVE HIGH TEA AT LIMBAR, PARIS

Limbar is a restaurant in a hotel called Le Cheval Blanc in Paris, France. I had high tea there, which was so decadent, I recommend all my readers try it at least once.

The Menu at Limbar Paris

The high tea menu is a set of four items you can pick. I chose Le Goûter Pétillant, in Four Acts. And I’m not sure why I got this one. I think the glutton in me wanted to try it all.

You’re greeted with a tasty cup of Champagne which is always nice to start with.

But if the glass of Champagne isn’t enough, Limbar has a full bar to help you with your adult beverage needs.

Soon afterward, they ask you about your tea of choice. Within a few minutes, your teapot and cups arrive.

With a full glass of Champagne, my dilemma was: Do I double fist? Is it appropriate to have one glass of Champagne in one hand and one cup of tea in the other?

If that’s not classy, I don’t think I should drink the tea yet. The water was still boiling. So, it kind of took care of itself.

Next arrives the two-tiered, beautifully displayed arrangement of hors d’oeuvres. They’re a combination of sweet and savory snacks that complement each other.

Some are nutty, some fishy, and some are pure chocolatey goodness.

My partner and I took our time sipping our tea and finishing up our Champagne before diving into our hors d’oeuvres.

Limbar Paris tea time! Oh yes!

There are two hors d’oeuvres of each kind. So, we both got one of each. We looked at each and traded a few.

My partner doesn’t like fish, so he gave me his tuna and salmon. I don’t appreciate chocolate as much as you’d think, so I gave him my chocolate ones.

Limbar itself is a beautiful restaurant. I’ve heard Paris has some of the best restaurants in the world, and although I’ve never been disappointed by the food in Paris, I’ve yet to really say that their fine dining experience has impressed me. Until now. (Actually, that’s not true, I LOVED Les Georges.)

The chill classical music playing in the background lulls you while you have your bite-sized snacks and chat with your party. It’s an experience everyone needs to try.

Shortly after that, they bring out a plate of three chocolate desserts. Three each. And although they’re small, I am full.

The Clientele

As I looked around, feeling like Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City, I noticed a mixture of tourists and locals.

You can always tell who the French men are because French men are so handsome. They have that “je ne sais quoi” French thing going for them. It’s a mysterious, beautiful, nonchalant attitude about them that screams, I woke up like this.

Handsome French men dining with each other.

Everyone was dressed to impress, which is not something I’m used to, but it’s nice to see.

The couple seated next to us was so cute. They were around my age, Millenials. So they took turns taking pictures of their food, and making videos for Instagram. It was cute to watch.

I wish my partner wasn’t so opposed to all things social media. In fact, he hates that I take pictures of anything. It’s one reason why blogging became my go-to (versus Vlogging.) I can hide that I’m writing like a crackwhore who hides their addiction.

Nevertheless, I basked in their mutual camaraderie as they smiled and laughed while taking the time to document their beautiful high tea. And why wouldn’t you? It’s not every day you have a fantastic meal like this.

The Restrooms at Limbar

The restrooms are near the back of the restaurant. The door is so fancy it doesn’t even look like a door. It blends in perfectly with the wall.

I felt like an idiot feeling the wall with both hands like a mime looking for his way out of his invisible box.

I only found the door because someone was leaving and opened it. It’s cute, to say the least.

Dessert So Nice I Want It Twice

After I returned from the restroom, the waiter approached our table with a giant display of desserts.

Desserts are displayed here for your choosing.

But I thought we already had dessert.

As she continued describing all options, I chose the smallest one. It made me wonder if I could even finish another plate of anything, for that matter.

I picked the pear-encrusted ice cream dessert.

As it arrived, I noticed it was huge! I cannot believe they give you this much food.

Although all the portions are smaller than anything you’ll have in the US, the richness of the food means you’ll feel like you need a wheelbarrow to get you out of Limbar.

Even though I was stuffed, I had a fantastic experience. Limbar is just WOW!

Let’s Break It Down:

Limbar is a restaurant in a hotel in Paris called Le Cheval Blanc.

It’s located at 8 Quai du Louvre, 75001 Paris, France.

The high tea is amazing. I highly recommend it. But go hungry, you’ll need an empty stomach if you choose one of the bigger options.

But if you don’t want that much you can choose a smaller option.
