Le Meridien Hotel in Nice, France, is such a great hotel. I’m glad we stayed here.
Although it’s hard to complain when I travel with my partner, considering he travels three times more than I do, his hotel status always ensures an upgrade. And that we did, we got an upgrade with a corner suite and a wrap-around terrace.
Le Meridien Nice, France is in the Center of it All
Le-Meridien Nice is located at 1 Promenade des Anglais, but it’s located in the middle of the city across the street from the promenade. Basically, it’s smack in the middle between the airport and the old part of town. However, Nice is so compact walking to anything is pretty easy. And that’s what makes this hotel’s location fantastic.
The Check-in Process at Le Meridien in Nice France
I don’t know about you guys, but I disapprove of long check-ins. I understand that luxury hotels think giving you more time and in-depth details of everything is customer service, but after flying for a day and a half, all I want to do is lay down and potentially use the toilet.
So a 30-minute long explanation about everything is too much. But I should mention this is not exclusive to Le Meridien. Many hotels do this, and I’m not too fond of it. There needs to be a better way.
The Room at Le Meridien Nice
Our hotel room is big. It has a lovely couch and table at one end. There’s a giant king-size bed in the middle with an equally gigantic restroom at the end of the room.
The room contained a Nespresso machine for coffee, and I don’t like those machines. I mean, I wake up (if you want to call it that) usually half-asleep, like a zombie. I don’t know my right from my left, and you expect me to become a barista? No thanks. Please give me a simple coffee pot.
Although all the outlets in the room are European, there is one universal outlet in the restroom tucked away on the left side of the mirror.
However, if you forgot your adapter as I did, don’t hesitate to ask the front desk. They’ll have one for you.
The room is big and well equipped with everything you need. You have excellent closet space. There’s a table for your things behind the bed for smaller items. And, there’s also plenty of space for your luggage.
One of the great things about this room at Le Meridien Nice is the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The windows wrap around the front and engulf the restroom. Dancing naked in the bathroom for all the neighbors to see has never been easier. Now is your chance.
However, one negative of the room (but pretty common if you think about it) is the lack of air conditioning. They have a heater, just no AC.
We slept with the terrace doors open and hoped the birds wouldn’t fly in and wake us.
The Restroom
The restroom is great. It’s a beautiful glass box with an ocean view.
It has a double vanity and a deep tub. So get your “luxury-on” and soak in a warm bath.
The shower has a rain shower head to rinse your worries away while on vacation. Or at least that’s how I felt while I showered.
The toilet (or WC) is to the right of the restroom, in the main part of the room. Like many hotels in Europe, it was a small little room with only a toilet. Nevertheless, this did not take away from experience.
Included in your stay are a boutique branded body wash, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a blow-drier. It also has many towels, facecloths, and robes to lounge on the terrace.
It’s a well-equipped restroom.
The Terrace
Even though the room walls are all glass, only one portion opened up to the terrace. This felt odd because you could’ve had glass sliders or two French doors, but I’m not complaining. At least we have a balcony.
The terrace wrapped around our room. With a view of the beaches and side streets, you could sit out there all day. Not to mention we were on the top floor. So our view was as far as the eye can see.
On the terrace, you have two loungers, a couple of chairs, and a table.
The floor above us was another hotel bar and restaurant and a small pool but because of covid, the hours were strange. Either way, I was more interested in exploring Nice than anything else.
Room Service
Because my partner has elite status, we were given two $25 vouchers for breakfast every day.
We used it and ate breakfast on our balcony every morning. We sipped our coffee and observed the morning joggers.
We noticed the swimmers in the bay and even spotted several nudists tanning on the beach as we had our breakfast.
Although it was tasty, I felt like the breakfast options were small. Every day, I got the same thing, which was two eggs and sausage links. I don’t like bacon, but that’s an option.
My partner got the poached eggs and tea.
You also got a basket of pastries which are perfect.
